Added Friday 14th September 2018Hardie Race Promotions (In Association with Spedeworth Motorsports) wish to inform drivers, teams, staff and fans of the decision to cancel the stock car event scheduled for Saturday September 22nd.

This decision has not been taken lightly and several circumstances lie behind the reasoning for the cancellation.

Firstly, the 1300 Stock Car World Championship takes place at Northampton Shaleway just eight days after this event and, in order to allow our drivers the best chance to be ready, we feel that the 1300 Stock Cars would benefit from not having a race meeting so close to their biggest event of the year.

Conversely, the Ninja Karts contest their Scottish Championship this weekend, so we run the risk of potential damage eliminating several drivers for the following week. The Junior Productions have also had a busy time of late and may well benefit from a few extra weeks to prepare for their remaining fixtures.

While the fixture was originally scheduled to be the CC Rods Scottish Championship, a busy spell has seen numbers take a slight decline, so the Scottish Championship will now be scheduled for SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 29th where it will double as the co-headlining event along with the 2.0 Hot Rod Scottish Championship. Hopefully this extra week of preparation time will see as many CC Rods out as possible for one of their biggest events of the year.

The Stock Rods were the fifth and final formula on show and HRP understand that a few drivers in the class have other commitments (work and holidays etc) that would see a depleted field on track. At a time when the HRP Stock Rods have been absolutely superb, it is felt that cancelling their fixture makes more sense than hosting a poorly-attended meeting.

Of course, it is also the Superstox Championship of the World over at Tullyroan Oval so now a few of us will be heading there!!!

Simply put, HRP wish to offer drivers, teams and spectators value for money and drivers the best racing action possible and we feel that, given this rather unique set of circumstances, that we would not be able to guarantee that and have therefore taken the decision to cancel the event with a good amount of notice.

Certainly, this is not the first Stock Car event to be cancelled in the UK in 2018 with Aldershot, Stoke and Yarmouth just three locations that have cancelled events for reasons other than the weather issues that blighted the early months of 2018.

We hope all drivers, teams and fans will understand the reasons behind this cancellation and apologise for any inconvenience caused. Drivers in all formulas that were due to race that night may book in for events elsewhere (where applicable).

The September schedule at HRP Lochgelly Raceway now looks like this:

September 15th
Big Van National Bangers Scottish Championship
Ninja Karts Scottish Championship
Classic Hot Rods
2.0 Hot Rods

September 29th
2.0 Hot Rods Scottish Championship
CC Rods Scottish Championship

HRP would like to thank everyone for their continued support.
