Friday Night action returns to Lochgelly Raceway for the first time in 2020!
A fantastic four formula line up featuring the all action 1300 Stock Cars, Ministox, Junior Productions and 2.0 Hot Rods!
A healthy turnout of cars for our first Friday night of 2020, where we also welcome 4 visiting drivers to the venue, Matthew Weir in the Junior Productions, whilst the 2.0 Hot Rods will see Dave Leech, James Morris and Kym Weaver in attendance.
The Ministox are one of the main attractions here at Lochgelly Raceway, with consistently strong fields of cars, with on average, 20+ cars in attendance, and this Friday night continues that trend - there are currently 22 Ministox booked into race. A number of drivers will be making their track debut, Zara Hutchinson and Ross McLaughlin. Lewis Burgoyne will be looking to score a haul of points after missing out 2 weeks ago, Lewis generally always goes well at Lochgelly, though he will have his work cut out with the likes of Charlie Hardie, Declan Honeyman and Scott Allardyce who will all be looking to maximise their return. There will be plenty of bumper work throughout the evening, with some breathtaking action from this group of youngsters. Ensure you give them a honk of your horn when on victory laps - they'll have earned it!
The 1300 Stock Cars currently have only 16 cars booked into race, however, with more cars expected to join the line up over the next 24 hours, it is anticipated that we will see over 20 cars come race time on Friday night. The full contact class never fails to disappoint, and with a few big hits last time out, all eyes will be watching for more on track action! Andrew Mathieson was in excellent form last time as he continues to gain momentum upon his return to the formula - brother Euan will be hoping to find a bit more pace, otherwise Andrew will have the bragging rights for another week! Jamie Stewart made an excellent debut in the formula, though will find himself a little closer to the chasing pack behind this week - can he get another couple of race wins under his belt, or will his cards be marked from those around him trying to prevent him breaking away?
The 2.0 Hot Rods make there first outing since the season re-commenced 2 weeks ago, and its great to see a few new names join in on the action, as well as a few visiting drivers. With the National Points chart reset to zero, its all systems go in the fight for world final qualification for 2021!! Wayne Lee, Marc Honeyman and Ian Donaldson join the 2.0 Hot Rod ranks, whilst World Champion Dave Leech, James Morris and Kym Weaver will be looking to take the trophies southbound with them! The non-contact class will provide some excellent racing on a dry track, with plenty of door to door and bumper to bumper action expect!
Finally, the Junior Productions complete our line up of formula, and its great to see another strong turn out of cars, possibly the most the class has seen for a domestic meeting since it was launched a few years ago. A few newcomers to the sport will see Callahan Bremner and Jack Dixon make there debut all going to plan, whilst Lewis Dickson makes his debut in the formula after progressing from Ninja Karts.
